QA Engineer Job in Eagan, MN
 
Primary Objective:
 
We are looking for a talented, highly motivated Lead Software Test Engineer to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment. As a Lead Software Test Engineer, you will be a member of a global team that is responsible for software quality testing and automation on a variety of applications. Your primary responsibilities will be to drive the automation efforts, which will allow us to increase automated regression test coverage across all systems. You will be responsible for determining and implementing a process for delivering automation within project iterations as a standard practice. In addition to automation, this role will also provide general technical direction to other team members and perform project work as assigned.
 
Key Responsibilities & Technologies
 
Drives automation efforts to ensure alignment across all locations to overall automation strategy, approach and best practices; brings forward recommendations for improvements as needed
 
Identifies, documents and prioritizes smoke and regression test cases to be automated; completes automation using QTP and other web-based tools
 
Determines and provides metrics upon execution of smoke and regression suites
 
Determines and implements process for delivering automation within a project release cycle
 
Provide technical leadership/coaching to others on team
 
Plan, develop and execute software testing tasks for applications developed using various technologies including distributed Internet technologies (Java/J2EE, relational databases, XML, web services, etc.)
 
Lead collaboration effort with software development and QA testing teams to ensure requirements are being met and that software testing services are adding value
 
Proactively share knowledge across software testing groups on best practices for testing software developed using new and emerging technologies
 
Research and implement new, innovative ways of providing quality testing services
 
Actively participate in and lead organizational initiatives
 
 
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
 
7+ years of software testing and/or software development experience working with various technologies including distributed Internet technologies (Java/J2EE, relational databases, XML, web services, etc.)
 
2+ years leading other team members
 
5+ years of experience automating tests, preferably using QTP
 
Experience with vb scripting, HTML and Java
Working experience of automation frameworks (Key word driven/Data Driven/Hybrid etc)
Proven experience in test planning and test case development
Experience with Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), including waterfall and agile software development methodologies
Strong technical aptitude and experience with the software tools and techniques used in automated testing
 
Experience working across multiple geographic locations and cultures
Good inter-team communication with the ability to influence and build solid relationships with team members
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Must be motivated; a self-starter, results oriented individual with a successful track record
